Metro promotes rider preparedness

Metro officials will host a series of lunchtime "open houses" during September to teach riders about transit-related emergency preparedness procedures as part of National Preparedness Month.

Representatives from the Metro Transit Police and from Metro’s risk protection and communications departments will attend the open houses from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following dates and Metrorail stations:

• Sept. 7 at L’Enfant Plaza;
• Sept. 9 at Metro Center;
• Sept. 14 at Union Station;
• Sept. 16 at Gallery Place-Chinatown;
• Sept. 21 at Pentagon;
• Sept. 23 at Reagan National Airport;
• Sept. 28 at Smithsonian;
• Sept. 30 at Capitol South.
