The D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation operates 33 pools, both indoor and out, and all are expected to be open on a regular summer schedule by June 23.

Among the pools are several "Walk to Learn" outdoor pools designed specifically for use by children who are 12 and younger.

Use of most city-operated pools is free to D.C. residents. Minimal fees are charged for use of the large outdoor pools at East Potomac, Francis, Georgetown, Upshur and Anacostia.
