Phone troubles continue; DCRA blames Bell Atlantic
(Published April 19, 1999)
More than two weeks after the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs moved into its new offices at 825 North Capitol St., several customer service phone lines are still not working. The agency blamed Bell Atlantic for the problems in an announcement on April 14.
"Bell Atlantic has not made necessary connections to main service numbers, employee extension, voice mail systems and call-forwarding from old numbers," the announcement said.
In the meantime, DCRA asks residents and others needing to do business with the D.C. government to call the following numbers for service:
Office of the Director: 442-8947
Building and Land Regulation Administration: 442-4460
Housing Regulation Administration: 442-4610
Building and Housing Inspections: 442-4650
Neighborhood Stabilization Program: 442-4650
Occupational and Professional Licensing: 442-4320
Office of Adjudication: 442-8167
Business Regulation Ad-ministration: 442-4450
The telephone problems related to DCRAs relocation from its former offices at 614 H St. NW were highlighted in a story in the April 5 issue of The Common Denominator.
