Sinzinger to join board of press association

The Common Denominatorís editor and publisher, Kathryn M. Sinzinger, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. (MDDC) Press Association.

The association is a nonprofit organization whose membership includes all of the daily newspapers and most of the non-daily newspapers in Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

Sinzinger, 45, who currently serves on the associationís Freedom of Information Committee, was nominated to the 18-member board in April and will officially join the board in July. Her term will run through 2004.

"I am honored to be asked to serve on the regional press association board and hope to encourage the association to focus more energy on helping to increase public access to D.C. government information," Sinzinger said.

The MDDC board also includes representatives of The Washington Post, The Washington Times and the Washington Afro-American.
