It's 'Restaurant Week,' Jan. 10-16
(Published January 10, 2005)

Dozens of Washington area restaurants will offer meals at discounted prices during the biannual "D.C. Restaurant Week" promotion, Jan. 10-16.

Customers at participating restaurants will be able to select from special three-course men-us, with meals priced at $20.05 for lunch and $30.05 for dinner.

Sponsored by the Washington DC Convention & Tourism Corp. and the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, Res-taurant Week was created initially to help the city’s restaurant industry recover after sales plummeted immediately following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in Manhattan and at the Pentagon.

The popularity and success of the promotion, which officials of the sponsoring organizations say has boosted participating restaurants’ business from 15 to 200 percent, resulted in the event being scheduled twice a year.

Among participating restaurants are Brasserie Les Halles, Charlie Palmer Steak, Colvin Run Tavern, The Occidental, Primi Piatti, Sea Catch Restaurant and Sesto Senso.

A complete list of participating restaurants is available online at www.restaurant weekdc.com.
